School of Transportation Science and Engineering? is one of the pioneers in transportation talents cultivation in China and has a long history, which can be traced back to railway? construction? department? of Sino-Russian Industrial School, the predecessor of Harbin? Institute of Technology (HIT)? founded? in 1920. After about a hundred? years? of development, it? becomes? an important? cultivation? base for distinguished talents of science and technology in the transportation field.? ?
There are? 5 departments, including? department of road and railway engineering, department of? bridge and tunnel engineering,? department of? road materials engineering, department of? traffic engineering, department of? traffic information and control engineering, and one? transportation experimental? center? in our school.? The research directions of our school include but not limited to? road structure durability design, asphalt and asphalt mixture viscoelastic theory, bridge health monitoring technology, green building materials, traffic safety, traffic planning and management, and intelligent transportation.?
Program Introduction?
Intelligent Transportation – HIT International Summer School will? last? for 2 weeks from July 13 to July 26, 2019, organized by? the school of? transportation science and engineering, HIT.? ?
The theme? of the international summer school this year is intelligent transportation which? includes? transportation planning, modern traffic detection, functional road surface, traffic safety and so on.? The feature of this summer school is? to organize competition? of intelligent transportation design,? which provides? students? with practical opportunities and great benefits.?
This summer school offers students a wide variety of teaching activities (e.g. courses, lectures and practice) by taking full use of traffic engineering? educational? resources and advantages of transportation discipline in our school. Besides, this summer school also provides students with high-quality learning experience, which will be a brand of talents cultivation in transportation science and engineering, HIT.?
